Stand-On and Walk-Behind Mowers for Tight Residential Routes

Gated back yards, fence corners, a twenty minute window per stop. You are measuring gates, not acres. We work with commercial crews across Ohio and Indiana who mow forty or more small properties a week, and we spec machines that clear the gate and still finish fast.

Q820E_48E_Studio_Graphic_1024x576
Gate width decides the machine more often than lawn size.
About 45% of mower owners here also run a loader.
Around four machines is a typical crew fleet.

Through The Gate First

Start with the narrowest gate on your route, then pick the deck. A QuikTrak stand-on carries a short wheelbase and a tight footprint, so it turns inside fence corners instead of backing and filling. The operator steps off at obstacles without shutting down, which matters when every property has a gate latch, a hose reel, and a trampoline. Bring us your tightest gate measurement and we will match the deck to it.

Same Route, Bigger Lawns

Most residential routes are not uniform. You get a handful of open front lawns and corner lots mixed into the gated work, and that is where a larger stand-on or a compact commercial zero-turn earns its keep. Running one machine for the tight back yards and one for the open ground keeps ground speed up without adding a second trailer. For the narrowest walk-behind-only yards, we will spec a commercial walk-behind alongside the stand-ons.

Questions we get on this job

What deck width actually fits through a standard residential gate?

It depends on the gate, and the spread is wider than most people expect on older Ohio and Indiana neighborhoods. Measure the narrowest opening on your route, including the latch hardware, and bring us that number. We will match a stand-on deck to it rather than guessing from a spec sheet.

Stand-on or walk-behind for tight yards?

A stand-on gives you speed and visibility and gets the operator off the machine quickly at gates and obstacles. A walk-behind still wins on the narrowest openings and on steep banks where you want to be on foot. Many crews we work with carry both on the same trailer.

Can I try one on my own route?

Yes. We will arrange a demo on your job site so you can run the machine through the actual gates and around the actual fence corners. That tells you more in an hour than any brochure will.

Do you stock parts and service this equipment?

We stock parts for these mowers and our technicians are trained on them. We have been family owned since 1904 and we service what we sell, because keeping your work moving is the whole point.
