The two questions we hear most.
A comfortable, familiar ride that does more than mow. The Select Series takes attachments for bagging, towing, and snow, so it earns its keep year round. Better on slopes, trees, and mixed chores. A great fit for most yards up to 3.5 acres.
Built for speed and trimming. A zero-turn pivots on the spot, so you mow around beds and trees fast and finish open yards in a fraction of the time. Best on flatter, more open ground. The electric Z370R adds quiet, gas-free operation.
Before you choose.
Under an acre, a 42 to 48 inch lawn tractor keeps it simple and affordable. One to three and a half acres, step up to a Select Series tractor or a residential zero-turn with a 48 inch deck. Over three and a half acres, a wider deck and more horsepower pay off. Terrain matters too.
They are built for different jobs. A zero-turn mows faster and trims tighter on open, flatter ground. A lawn tractor or Select Series rides comfortably, handles slopes better, and takes attachments for chores beyond mowing.
Lawn tractors and the Select Series generally handle grades more confidently than a residential zero-turn. On genuinely hilly property, choose a tractor and mow across the slope.
Residential mowers are built for the hours a homeowner puts on them, with the comfort, simplicity, and price that fit that use. Commercial machines are built for landscapers running all day at a higher cost.
