A straight, spec-by-spec look for lawn buyers across Ohio and Indiana. The numbers are only half the decision.

Is the John Deere ZTrak Z540M right for you?

The Customer looking at this class of zero-turn is usually someone with a larger residential lot or a small commercial property, maybe two to five acres, who mows regularly and wants the job done right without spending all day on it. They are weighing cut quality, comfort over a long session, and whether the machine will still be worth something in five or six years. The Z540M brings 24 horsepower against the Kubota's 21, and that extra power shows up on thick late-summer grass or when you push the pace. Speaking of pace, the Z540M tops out at 8.5 mph versus 8 mph on the Kubota, which adds up over a full mow. The larger front caster tires also give you better ground tracking on uneven terrain.

The Kubota does come with mulching standard and offers a high-back seat, so we want to be straight with you there. But the Z540M gives you deck choices up to 62 inches, MulchControl as an add-on when you want it, and it comes in at a lower starting price than the Kubota's 48-inch configuration. That is a meaningful difference. Add the Koenig service network across Indiana and Ohio, genuine John Deere parts on the shelf, and resale value that holds up, and the picture gets clearer.

If any of this lines up with what you are trying to accomplish, our team here would be glad to walk you through the deck options and find the right fit for your property.
