Is the John Deere ZTrak Z320R right for you?

The Customer looking at a residential zero-turn in this class is usually someone with a half-acre to maybe two acres, who wants to get the mowing done efficiently and not spend their weekend wrestling with an uncomfortable machine. They are weighing price, comfort, and how long the mower will actually hold up before something goes wrong. The Toro TimeCutter 77401 is a reasonable machine, and we will be honest: it does carry a slight horsepower edge at 22 hp versus the Z320R's 21.5 hp, and Toro publishes a deck width on this model. For most residential lots, though, that half-horsepower difference is not something you will feel on a Saturday morning.

Where the Z320R pulls ahead in a real-world way is in the details that affect every single mow. The wider drive tires (18x8.5-8 versus 18x7.5) give you better traction and a more stable footprint on uneven ground. The front caster tires are wider too, which means less turf scuffing on turns. And the seat is a genuine 20-inch high-back with armrests compared to Toro's 16-inch seat. If you are on this machine for an hour or more, that difference is something your back will notice.

The Z320R also carries a named engine, the Kawasaki FR651V, so parts are straightforward to source. John Deere's warranty is bumper-to-bumper for 3 years or 200 hours, and when something does come up, our Koenig team across Indiana and Ohio can get you genuine parts and back in your yard fast. Stop in and let us walk you through one in person.
