Is the John Deere X380-48A right for you?

Most Customers shopping in this class own a half-acre to a full acre of turf and want a mower that handles it cleanly year after year without a lot of fuss. They are comparing price tags, but what they are really weighing is how much of a Saturday afternoon they want to spend dealing with maintenance headaches five years from now. The X380 gives you 23 horsepower against the Kubota's 21.5, so you have a little more reserve when the grass is thick or damp. The wider 22x11-10 rear tires also give you a more planted feel on slopes compared to the Kubota's slightly narrower 22x10-10. The Twin Touch pedal setup is genuinely more intuitive than a single foot pedal once you get used to it, and the no-tools oil drain makes service something you will actually do on schedule instead of putting off.

The Kubota runs a Kawasaki engine, which is a solid unit, so we will be straight with you there. But the X380's Accel Deep deck is purpose-built to discharge clippings cleanly at higher speeds, and the foot-pedal lift with adjustable spring assist is easier on your leg over a long mow than a fender lever. Both machines carry the same four-year, 300-hour warranty, so that is a wash.

Where Koenig makes a real difference is what happens after the sale. Genuine John Deere parts, local service technicians, and stores across Indiana and Ohio mean you are not waiting on a shipping delay when something needs attention. Stop in and we will walk you through both options side by side.

The spec sheet is only half the decision

People buy an experience and a partner they trust, not just a machine. With Koenig you also get:

  • Performance Edge maintenance — scheduled service, multi-point inspections, genuine John Deere parts, priority scheduling; the 4-year plan adds a year of warranty.
  • Parts and service ecosystem — genuine parts, warranty support, certified technicians, and online scheduling.
  • Total cost of ownership — John Deere durability, resale value, and uptime often win over the life of the machine.
  • A local partner across Ohio and Indiana — a team you can build a relationship around for the life of the equipment.
Specifications are subject to change and were accurate at time of publication. Engine power for non-Deere machines is provided by that engine manufacturer. See your local Koenig Equipment store for complete details.
