John Deere X350-48A vs. CUB CADET XT2 SLX50

A straight, spec-by-spec look for lawn buyers across Ohio and Indiana. The numbers are only half the decision.

Is the John Deere X350-48A right for you?

The Customer looking at these two machines usually has a half-acre to a full acre, wants a mower that feels solid and lasts, and is trying to decide whether a bigger engine or a better overall package makes more sense. The Cub Cadet does carry a 24 hp Kohler engine against the X350's 21.5 hp Kawasaki FR651V, and that is worth acknowledging. But for a typical residential lot, that extra 2.5 hp rarely shows up in real-world cutting, and the X350 more than holds its own everywhere else on the sheet.

Look at the warranty side by side. The X350 gives you a full 4-year, 300-hour bumper-to-bumper coverage. The Cub Cadet splits its warranty across multiple tiers with different terms and exclusions for commercial use, which can get confusing fast. The X350 also comes with larger rear tires at 20x10-8 for better traction, the Twin Touch pedal system for smooth, intuitive speed control, and a no-tools oil drain with a replaceable filter that makes routine maintenance genuinely easy. The Accel Deep 48-inch deck is purpose-built to move grass efficiently, even in thick conditions.

When something needs attention down the road, Koenig's stores across Indiana and Ohio carry genuine John Deere parts and have technicians who know these machines well. That kind of local support matters more than a spec sheet number over the long run. Stop in and let one of our team members walk you through it in person.
