Is the John Deere S170 - 48 right for you?

Both mowers match up on engine power and cutting width, so the real differences show up in the details of how each one is built to be used and maintained. The S170 runs a John Deere-built engine rather than a Briggs and Stratton unit, pairs it with a K46 heavy-duty hydrostatic transaxle, and rolls on larger 22x9.5-12 rear tires that give you better traction on uneven or soft ground compared to the 20x10-8 tires on the Husqvarna. The side-by-side pedal control also tends to feel more intuitive once you get a few hours on it.
