A straight, spec-by-spec look for gator buyers across Ohio and Indiana. The numbers are only half the decision.

Is the John Deere Gator XUV 825M Gas right for you?

The Customer shopping in this space usually has real work to do, whether that's hauling feed and fencing supplies across a farm, moving materials on a large property, or supporting a crew on a job site. They want something that can keep up day after day without babying. The Gator XUV 825M Gas puts out 52 horsepower, and while Yamaha doesn't publish a power figure for the Viking, the 825M's numbers show up in the work: a 1,000 lb cargo box rating versus the Viking's 600 lb, and both machines match at 1,500 lb towing. When you're loading up with tools, seed, or equipment, that extra 400 lb of box capacity adds up fast.

The 825M also brings fully independent dual A-arm suspension front and rear with adjustable coils, giving you 8 inches of front travel and 9 inches in the rear. That tunability matters when terrain changes from gravel lane to rough pasture. The Viking does run a slightly larger fuel tank at 9.7 gallons versus 7.3, so fair enough there, but most working Customers aren't choosing a utility vehicle based on fill-up frequency.

Where Koenig really separates the two is everything after the sale. Genuine John Deere parts, local service technicians, and a dealer network across Indiana and Ohio means less downtime when something needs attention. If you want to put the 825M through its paces and talk through how it fits your operation, stop in and see us.
