A straight, spec-by-spec look for gator buyers across Ohio and Indiana. The numbers are only half the decision.

Is the John Deere Gator XUV 825i right for you?

The Customer who's seriously looking at the XUV 825i is usually someone who works their property hard every day, not just on weekends. They're hauling feed, pulling a sprayer, or moving materials across ground that isn't always cooperative. The Ranger 900 XP does have a real edge on raw horsepower and towing capacity, and we won't pretend otherwise. But here's what we see in the field: most Customers never come close to maxing out a 1,000 lb cargo box or a 1,500 lb tow rating on a typical day's work. What they do notice is how the machine rides and handles when the terrain gets rough.

That's where the 825i earns its keep. The fully independent dual A-arm suspension front and rear, with adjustable coils and a rear sway bar, gives you 8 inches of travel up front and 9 inches out back. The Ranger lists dual A-arm suspension without those specifics, and that difference shows up in operator comfort over a long day. The 825i's oil bath final drive is also a sealed, low-maintenance system built for consistent daily use rather than occasional trail runs.

Add in the genuine John Deere parts availability and the Koenig service network across Indiana and Ohio, and downtime becomes a much shorter conversation. If any of this sounds like your situation, come talk with our local team and we'll put you in the seat.
