Is the John Deere E140 - 48 right for you?

The Customer looking at this comparison usually has a half-acre to a full acre of lawn, wants something reliable that starts every spring without drama, and does not want to spend more than they have to. The Cub Cadet XT2 LX46 carries a longer warranty on paper and a 24 hp engine versus the E140's 22 hp, so those are real differences worth naming. But here is what the spec sheet does not show: the E140 comes in $200 less than the Cub Cadet while giving you a wider 48-inch cut compared to the XT2's 46-inch deck. That extra two inches adds up across a full season of mowing, and you are paying less to get it.

The E140 also runs on wider 20x10-8 rear tires versus the XT2's 20x8, which means better traction on slopes and soft ground. For most residential yards, 22 hp is more than enough power, and the John Deere Edge deck has a proven reputation for a clean, consistent cut. The two-year bumper-to-bumper warranty is shorter than Cub Cadet's offer, but genuine John Deere parts and factory-trained technicians at Koenig stores across Indiana and Ohio mean you are not waiting weeks for a repair when the grass is growing.

If you want to talk through how the E140 fits your specific yard, stop in and see the Koenig team at your nearest location. We are happy to walk you through it in person.
