Spec Comparison

John Deere 4052M HST/PRT vs. John Deere 4052R HST/PRT

A straight, spec-by-spec look for cut buyers across Ohio and Indiana. The numbers are only half the decision.

John Deere 2032R Compact Tractor

Is the John Deere 4052M HST/PRT right for you?

When a Customer is weighing the 4052M against the 4052R, they are usually someone who wants a capable 50-horsepower compact utility tractor for property work, loader use, or light ag tasks, and they are trying to figure out whether the extra investment in the R series is actually worth it for how they farm or manage land. The honest answer for most buyers is that it is not. The 4052M and 4052R share the same engine output at 50.8 gross horsepower, the same 42.3 L/min implement hydraulic flow, the same hitch category, and the same 2,500-pound lift capacity behind the link arms. The core capability that does the daily work is identical between the two machines.

Where the 4052R does have a real edge is the available cab configuration, which the 4052M does not offer, and cruise control comes standard on the R rather than optional. If a Customer genuinely needs an enclosed cab for year-round comfort, the 4052R is the right conversation. But if they are running an open station, the 4052M delivers the same tractor at a lower price point, and that difference in cost can go toward implements, attachments, or a service plan that keeps the machine running when they need it most.

Our team at Koenig stores across Indiana and Ohio can walk through your specific setup, whether that is loader work, finish mowing, or three-point implement use, and help you land on the right fit. Come talk with us before you decide.
