Spec Comparison

John Deere 4052M HST/PRT vs. John Deere 4044R HST/PRT

A straight, spec-by-spec look for cut buyers across Ohio and Indiana. The numbers are only half the decision.

John Deere 2032R Compact Tractor

Is the John Deere 4052M HST/PRT right for you?

The Customer comparing these two is usually someone who has outgrown a smaller compact tractor and needs real working power, not just a little more of it. Maybe they are running a loader, a finish mower, and a tiller on the same property, or they are baling on a smaller acreage and need a tractor that does not labor under load. The 4052M gives you 50.8 gross horsepower against the 4044R's 42.5, and that gap shows up most at the PTO shaft, where the 4052M delivers 39.1 hp compared to 33.6 hp on the 4044R's PowrReverser setup. When you are running a heavier implement for hours at a stretch, that extra power is not a number on paper, it is the difference between working at a comfortable throttle and pushing the machine.

To be fair, the 4044R does come with cruise control as standard where the 4052M lists it as optional, and the 4044R is available with a cab configuration that the 4052M open-station spec does not match. If a cab is your priority, that is worth a direct conversation. But for most Customers in this comparison, the power advantage on the 4052M is the deciding factor, and the steering and implement hydraulics are identical between the two, so you are not giving anything up there.

Our team at Koenig stores across Indiana and Ohio can walk you through the exact configuration that fits your operation, whether that means sorting out the transmission choice or matching the right implements to that PTO output. Stop in or give us a call and we will make sure you leave with the right tractor, not just the next one up the line.
