Spec Comparison

John Deere 4044R HST/PRT vs. KUBOTA L4060 DT, GST, HST, HSTC

A straight, spec-by-spec look for cut buyers across Ohio and Indiana. The numbers are only half the decision.

John Deere 2032R Compact Tractor

Is the John Deere 4044R HST/PRT right for you?

Most Customers shopping in this class are running a mix of loader work, finish mowing, and maybe a tiller or box blade out back. They want a tractor that feels responsive all day, not one they have to fight through a gear selection every time conditions change. The 4044R's eHydro transmission gives you smooth, intuitive speed control without the mechanical steps you get on the Kubota DT or GST variants. And cruise control comes standard on the 4044R, while Kubota only includes it on the top-tier HSTC trim, so you are not paying extra just to get a feature that makes long mowing runs a lot less tiring.

Where the numbers really separate these two is in the hydraulics. The 4044R delivers 42.3 liters per minute to your implements versus 35.6 to 37 on the Kubota, depending on which trim you are comparing. That extra flow means faster loader cycles and more responsive three-point response when you are working a heavy attachment. The Kubota does edge out the 4044R on raw hitch lift capacity, 2,760 pounds versus 2,500, so if you are regularly picking up the heaviest Category 1 implements available, that is worth noting. For most buyers, though, the hydraulic advantage and transmission refinement tip the scales toward the Deere.
