A straight, spec-by-spec look for cut buyers across Ohio and Indiana. The numbers are only half the decision.
The Customer weighing these two is usually running a small farm, a larger hobby property, or a landscaping operation where the tractor needs to do real work every day, not just occasional light chores. They want something they can attach a loader, a box blade, or a finish mower to and actually push through the job without feeling underpowered. The 3039R gives you 38.2 horsepower against the 3035D's 34.2, and that gap shows up most when you're running implements under load. More telling is the hydraulic flow: the 3039R moves 9.1 gallons per minute to your implements compared to 5.9 on the 3035D, and steering hydraulics run at 6.2 gpm versus 4.4. That means faster, more responsive loader cycles and implements that actually keep up with you.
The 3039R also gives you a 12-speed PowrReverser transmission versus an 8-speed shuttle on the 3035D, which matters when you're digging, grading, or loading and need to find the right ground speed without hunting through gears. The longer 68-inch wheelbase adds stability on uneven ground, and if you go with the eHydro, cruise control comes standard. The 3035D has no cab option at all, so if you ever want a heated cab for year-round work, the 3039R is the only path forward.
If budget is the deciding factor, the 3035D is a capable machine and we would never talk you into more tractor than you need. But for most Customers doing consistent daily work, the 3039R's extra power, hydraulic capacity, and transmission flexibility tend to pay for themselves in productivity and resale value. Stop by and talk with our team at any of our stores across Indiana and Ohio and we can walk through the numbers together.
