Is the John Deere 3025D right for you?

The Customer looking at this comparison is usually someone who needs a compact tractor for loader work, finish mowing, and light implements around a small farm or acreage. They want something reliable and easy to own for the long haul, not necessarily the most powerful machine on the lot. The 3025D fits that profile well. Yes, the 3038E carries more engine power and more PTO output, and if you are running a heavier rotary cutter or a larger tiller regularly, that extra horsepower is real and worth considering. But here is where the 3025D surprises people: its rear hitch lift capacity comes in at 2,081 pounds versus the 3038E's 1,356 pounds. That is a meaningful gap, and for a Customer who is moving a box blade, a rear blade, or a heavier three-point attachment, the 3025D actually handles the load better at the hitch.

The synchromesh shuttle shift transmission on the 3025D is also worth talking through. Some Customers prefer the simplicity and direct feel of a gear drive over hydrostatic, especially for loader cycles where they want precise control without the transmission doing the thinking for them. It is a personal preference, but it is not a compromise.

If you are weighing these two and want to talk through which one fits your actual workload, stop by any of our stores across Indiana and Ohio and we can walk through it together.
